The lighting is used effectively to create a dark and foreboding atmosphere.

The light from behind makes the location seem like a back street alley, while the wall would hide them from the view of the singing tribes.

It would make suspense and puts them in a secluded area where other guards can’t see to stop them.

It causes worry and fear, it makes viewers wonder what lengths the guard will go to.

You can contrast this to the earlier scene with the guard where if they had gotten into a fight there would be other guards to stop them.
